Typically, we staff one shepherd onsite. Shepherds are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the herd 24/7. On larger projects two or more shepherds may share the shepherding duties, often rotating shifts throughout the day. Each shepherd lives onsite for the duration of the project in a self contained travel trailer or in one of our Zero-Footprint Camps. Our Zero-Footprint Camps blend in well to the landscape, are extremely tasteful and well designed structures which provide seasonal housing for our staff, managers and shepherd while onsite. Zero-Footprint Structures are usually made from natural fibers and materials, cost little or nothing to transport, and do not require additional expenditures of fuel or labor resource to transport onsite, or between projects. These mobile structures can be assembled and disassembled quickly and can be used in a variety of residential and wildland settings, providing an artful and ecological housing setting for onsite staff. Additionally, our camps and shepherd accommodations are equipt with on demand water heaters, and are powered by solar voltaic systems which are completely self contained and transportable. Zero-Footprint Camps are an intentional effort, put forth to test and establish less impactful ways of living in the environments which we work in. With the intention of providing comfortable, artful and low-carbon footprint accommodations, we have designed these camps to confrm to landscapes while maintaining a high degree of eco-sustainabilty.
